Join me for today’s podcast to keep yourself up-to-date on the job market so you can make the proper adjustments whether you’re a job seeker or job stayer!

Inflation 9.1%. Housing, up 5.6%. It’s fine to look at a snapshot in time, but if you want to know what’s going to happen when, you need to look at trends. The JOLTS report (Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey) indicates job openings are on a two-month slide.

The PCE (Personal Consumption Expenditure) shows contraction in personal spending four months in a row.

These are tell-tale trends!

Listen in to find out where we are, where we’re going, and what you can do about it when choosing a potential employer or asking for a pay raise from your current one!

Ever have difficulty deciding which interview story to tell? You get asked a question and you’re left to choose the example you give. Tough one!

You start wondering should I choose a recent story? But, the oldie from 20 years ago is truly a goodie. Longer one? Maybe shorter is better. Go strategic? Tactical? Should I try to showcase one big talent? A few good talents?

Choose the correct story and all you need to do is tell the story well. (Sure, easy enough for me to say.) Choose incorrectly and, well, game over. Maybe not that bad. Or maybe…

Hey, just teasing you a little. But, you know I’m a pleaser not a teaser. That’s why today I’m giving you a this-or-that and here’s-why podcast on how to decide which stories are best to tell.

Time management is dead. I don’t even use a daily to-do list. No lie. Haven’t for years. Why? Because daily to-do lists are where the important, but not-urgent tasks go to die.

You know the ones…the ones you should be doing, but don’t because you always seem to get distracted by the shorties (my endearing term for those “urgent,” short-term tasks).

Those “urgent,” non-important acts are bad, bad, bad.

Those little culprits not only prevent you from working the important, long-term stuff, but also seem to drain you of your energy.

So, long ago I said, “No more!” to daily to-do lists and time management.

I said, “Heck yes!” to energy management.

Don’t get me wrong. I have lists. Killer lists. Just not daily to-do lists.

And, if you’ve ever seen one of my live shows, you know I have no trouble with my energy.

If you want to know how I plan my day so I never run out of energy (and get a ton of stuff done), join me for today’s podcast!

Introduce yourself much? In a meeting? At a networking event? How about in a job interview? Yes! Let’s do that one today. In an interview. Ever have difficulty with this? How much? How little? Where to start? When to stop?

It IS important for you to nail this Goldilocks-style. And, the reason introducing yourself is difficult is because it’s SO NOT about how well you know yourself. It’s actually about how well you know the person you’re introducing yourself to!

I’m talkin’ ‘bout the style of introduction that’s the “tweener” between the one-sentence elevator pitch and the full-blown “walk me through your résumé.”

You have one minute. What would you say? I’m giving you THE FORMULA today!

As an executive recruiter who helped more than 600 awesome people get new jobs, I developed a way to view compensation so those wonderful, employees-to-be didn’t miss a penny comin’ or goin’ so to speak.

What’s more, it’s not just about pennies or nickels or dimes, but also the qualitative ways to view them.

That’s because, just like I said to my wife the other day, “Convenience is worth something.”

Not everything in your life has a price tag, but all things do have a value YOU assign to them.

Since everyone’s value-meter is different, you need a holistic way to look at what you earn, how to interpret it, and, most importantly, how to value it.

Why do you need something like this?

Because you’ll need to use this information to craft the counteroffer you’ll imminently make when the employer gives you your shiny new job offer.

So, today, you not only get a podcast called Your Salary Negotiation Financial Checklist, but I’m also gonna give you a free download called Assess Your Current Financial Worth: A Handy Checklist to Capture Your Complete Compensation Package!

Enjoy!
